Renee Boje is Todd McCormick's friend who is also a phoney super hero according to Chief-Inspector-Colonel-Detective McFarty. McFarty's mission symbolizes a part of society's wishes to destroy the lives of Todd's friends.

Renee is fighting extradition from Canada to the US. The US federal authorities want to imprison Renee for up to life inprison for medical marijuana charges stemming from a bust in California, where medical marijuana is legal. If she wins Renee can remain in Canada, an important precedent will be set for other "drug war refugees." By supporting Renee's case, the public has an enormous opportunity to help shape the relationship between Canada and the United States in relation to victims of the War on Drugs, especially with regard to marijuana for medical purposes.

Renee Boje's trials and tribulations began after California medical marijuana activist Todd McCormick was arrested growing thousands of cannabis plants in a rented Bel Air mansion in the summer of 1997. Inspired by the recent
passage of Proposition 215 that effectively legalized medical marijuana in the state, McCormick began growing the plants as part of his research for a book he was working on, "How to Grow Medical Marijuana."

Renee was initially arrested along with a number of other people on the premises, but her charges were later dropped. In 1998, Renee's lawyer advised her that the charges against her were about to be reinstated so she fled to the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia and eventually filed for refugee status. Renee offered to return to the US and stand trial if US Attorney General Janet Reno would drop the charges against co-defendent Peter McWilliams, who passed away in prison, dying of AIDS during which time he was denied his right to medical marijuana.

On February 9, 2000, a BC Supreme Court judge ordered Renee to surrender herself for extradition. However, she has been released on bail and is currently appealing to the public to write to federal Minister of Justice Anne McLellan asking her to intervene. Recently, Woody Harrelson added his support to the campaign.

Chief-Inspector-Colonel-Detective McFarty, just loves the idea that suggests Renee to be a Drug Queenpin and not an Innocent Victim. He got that idea from Glamour magazine which featured Renee in an article headed up with that title.
